Welcome Fall, Y’all!

Every year about this time word on the street is that if you wanted to sell your home this calendar year, then it’s too late to sell your home. You have missed the Spring market, the Summer season, and now school is in full swing and you know, the holidays are just around the corner.  So, darn, I guess we wait until Spring.

Um. No.

People Move Every Month of the Year. It’s true. Winter, spring, summer or fall people move. They change jobs, have babies, downsize.  It’s just a fact. And if no one bought or sold homes in any particular part of the year, not only would I tell you, but I’d also be on an extended vacation. (Those that know me… no extended vacations, right?)

Inventory is low. That part ….. truth. Inventory remains low in the 4th quarter. Every statistic-making algorithm will show a marked decrease in homes offered for sale. That’s not a problem here, for you, a seller. In fact, think about it. Lower inventory means there are fewer homes for sale, which means you have less competition, and probably (depending on the big picture) a little more of an upper hand in negotiations. And the buyers that are searching for homes in the 4th quarter (i.e. fall) are likely serious and not your “just looking” kind of buyers.

All I want for Christmas is a new home! You bet it’s at this time of year that people dream about their new (or next) home for the holidays. Picture-perfect decorated trees and a home adorned with lights bring the warm and fuzzy feelings for sure. Consider the other side, too. Maybe you’re thinking this is your last Christmas in your current home? The possibilities are endless.

Don’t despair… I sell homes 12 months of the year.  Including Fall. 😉
